Copenhagen is the world’s first city to provide cyclists with traffic information screens

03.08.2017  08:33
The information screens will help cyclists navigate around roadwork, traffic jams and other obstacles on their way.

With more bicycles than cars in Copenhagen and 45% of the city’s inhabitants daily using bicycles when commuting, the capital of Denmark is increasingly experiencing a traffic congestion for bikes. Therefore, Copenhagen Municipality has come up with traffic information screens for bicycles, the first of its kind in the world.

The screens will be installed alongside busy cycle lanes in central, northern, and southern Copenhagen. The screens will provide bicycle users with information about distances to destinations, safety tips, and alternative routes to avoid obstacles. The first one is already in place and four more coming up.
