The Danish European Parliamentary Committee visits South Korea

From February 4th – 8th 2018 the Danish European Parliamentary Committee visited South Korea to learn more about the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and South Korea.

From the February 4th – 8th 2018, thirteen members of the Danish European Parliamentary Committee visited South Korea to extend their knowledge about the trade agreement between The European Union and South Korea six years after it entered into force. The focus of the delegation’s visit was to look into the implementation and effects of the trade agreement from a South Korean perspective.

During the stay, the Danish delegation had meetings with a wide range of representatives from the National Assembly, labour and employer’s organisations, Danish companies, the Ministry for Trade, Industry and Energy, the European Delegation and the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea.

The members of the Danish European Parliamentary Committee also visited the Demilitarized Zone and met with representatives from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Seoul to get insight into the political and security situation on the Korean Peninsula.
