Cycling Project for the Elderly Receives Increased Funding

28.03.2014  05:26
'Cycling without age' is a project where cyclists can transport elderly residents in Copenhagen around the city on rickshaw bikes. With the recent City Council's decision to increase funding for the project, as many as 40 more rickshaw bikes could soon be on the streets of Copenhagen.
This project, which was started last year, has allowed the elderly population to come out of their homes and get a breath of fresh air thanks to volunteers. Not only has the idea spread to other locations within Denmark such as Aarhus and Bornholm, countries such as Norway, Austria, and Brazil have expressed great interest in starting similar projects.
