Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Yoo visits Denmark: New education cooperation launched.

On August 14th to 15th, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Yoo visited Denmark to strengthen the cooperation between Denmark and Korea on education. The visit marks the first visit to Denmark by a South Korean Minister of Education, and is testament to the growing interest in South Korea for Nordic school systems and education philosophies.

Danish Minister of Higher Education and Science, Anne Halsbo-Jorgensen, and Minister of Children's Education, Pernille Rosenkrantz-Theil, held bilateral meetings with Minister Yoo Eun-hye to discuss Education cooperation between Denmark and Korea. In addition, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education Cooperation in the field of primary and secondary education to reinforce the educational partnership between the two countries.

In addition, Minister Yoo also visited local educational institutions, including the Technical University of Denmark and After Schools (Efterskoler), to bring homeinspiration from the Danish educational system and to discuss ways to enhance education innovation and cooperation.
