Danish-Korean clinical trials seminar a great success

21.10.2020  08:25

A Danish-Korean workshop aimed at promoting further development and bilateral cooperation in the clinical trials sector was held at the Danish Ambassador's residence in Seoul, Seongbuk-dong, on October 20, 2020.

Participating in the on-offline mixed seminar were Danish Ambassador H.E. Einar Jensen, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea (MFDS), the Danish Medicines Agency (DKMA), the Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials, Trial Nation, Yonsei Severance Hospital, LEO Pharma, Novo Nordisk, and Lundbeck. The seminar was organised by the Embassy of Denmark in Korea and hosted by the MFDS and DKMA.

The two countries' regulatory authorities agreed on further bilateral cooperation and on the exchange of information in the clinical trials sector. In particular, the MFDS and DKMA are set to sign a Memorandum of Confidentiality (MOC) for the confidential exchange of information regarding medicine and medical devices in the coming month.

The online workshop provided a good opportunity for Denmark and Korea's authorities, institutions and companies to engage in a lively discussion on the opportunities and barriers for conducting clinical trials in both countries and laid ground for further cooperation.
