Applications for new passports must be handed in personally at the Embassy of Denmark in Korea, where the necessary biometric data can be recorded. The Embassy recommends applicants to make a prior appointment by calling or mailing the Embassy in advance.

All applicants must bring a passport application that can be downloaded at the bottom of this page, as well as their existing passport.

The passport application fee as of 1 January 2018 is KRW 192,000 and must be paid with a credit card upon application (the passport fee is indicative and subject to change without further notice).

Passport extensions and provisional (emergency) passports are free of charge if an application for a new passport is handed in at the same time.

Passports are issued in Denmark and take approximately 4 weeks to be available.

When applying for the first passport for a child we recommend parents contact the Embassy in advance for advice on the necessary documentation needed to establish the nationality of the child (birth certificate containing the names of both parents, passports of both parents, as well as proof of marriage in cases where only the father is Danish). Passport applications for minors require the written consent by both parents in the application (section C of the application form).

Passports for children under the age of 12 do not contain biometric data and as such applications can also be submitted to the Danish Honorary Consulate in Busan. Please note that two signed copies of the application form must be submitted along with two passport photos that meet the requirements of the Danish police.
