Denmark and Korea Explore MedTech Innovation Pathways at Nordic+Korean Innovation Days 2025

(Seoul) On May 14, the Embassy of Denmark in Korea hosted a seminar titled, 'Accelerating MedTech Innovation: Shaping the Future of Diagnostics and Treatment' at the B3 Conference Hall at the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Bringing together experts from Denmark and Korea, the session shed light on MedTech innovation, digital health solutions, and patient-centric technologies in addressing the global challenges of aging populations, chronic diseases, and the rising costs of healthcare. It also looked at collaboration among the government, industry, and academia that is aimed at harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, wearable robots, genomics, and digital solutions to improve diagnostics and personalize therapy.

In the first session titled, ‘The Urgency and Importance of MedTech Innovation’, the Danish Life Science Cluster and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute each gave a presentation on public-private partnership in the MedTech and bio sector.

In the following ‘Digital Health Solutions for Chronic Disease Management’ session, the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk presented on the power of digital technology and artificial intelligence in revolutionizing drug development and improving patient outcomes. Following this, Kakao Healthcare presented on the impact of mobile health technology in reshaping chronic disease management by enhancing accessibility and enabling more personalized and effective treatment.

In the session for ‘Enhancing Patient-Centric Care Through Innovative Technologies’, the Technical University of Denmark shared its ground-breaking work in therapeutic drug monitoring and the development of innovative ingestible devices. From Korea, Angel Robotics demonstrated the potential of integrating wearable robotics with healthcare ecosystems for more seamless and comprehensive patientcare.

The session concluded with a panel discussion and a Q&A with the audience that further examined the key challenges and opportunities posed by the global health industry for strengthening Nordic-Korean collaboration to accelerate health innovation.

The Danish seminar is part of the ‘Nordic+Korea Innovation Days 2025’, a week-long event held from May 13th to May 18th organized by the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in Korea.
